Chris Hatzi is Senior Director, Client Engagements & Facilitation at Crisis Simulations International. He is also a co-founder of CSI.
Chris has more than 25 years’ experience in transportation, supply chain management and port operations. He has served as President and CEO of Transportation Strategies, Senior Vice President & General Manager for Saga Forest Carriers, Vice President with Cascade Marine Agencies, in market development with the Port of Portland and as AVP with Strachan Shipping Company. He has taught and spoken extensively on port operations, disruptions, and security.
Chris began working with simulation and educational design with Sandia National Laboratories' National Infrastructure Simulation and Analysis Center (NISAC) program. The program, funded by the Department of Homeland Security, developed computer simulations of infrastructure interdependencies and infrastructure disruptions for the ports of Portland, Seattle, Houston and New Orleans. Chris also co-authored (with Sandia National Laboratories) an article for System Dynamics Review entitled "How Do We Increase Port Security without Imperiling Maritime Commerce? Using Flight Simulators and Workshops to Begin the Discussion."
Chris attended the University of Houston and Southern Oregon College.
